Sedona - CakesOn my way to Sedona. Looking forward to exploring and sharing the adventures. 8:56am - 02/02 - A L O - You guys are killing me with all this talk of riding. No riding anywhere near CB since it started snowing. Can't wait to make it back down to Sedona this spring. Enjoy the warm weather and great riding for those of us in snow country! Wish I was there!!!!!!! 12:34pm - 02/01 - augstwest - I love Arizona. I visited Sadona and was treated to some mountain biking to the likes of which we don't see to often in Phoenix. Thanks John I'll be back to visit maybe like April, I have a lot of training to do although the altitude could be a good training tool talk more soon. 7:05pm - 12/20 - ridinfool - and you can stick it. 5:09pm - 12/20 - Cakes - Still riding in shorts. Just saying... |

Marzocchi 44 29" - augstwestJust got a new front end put on my bike obvious difference is the weight, my bike feels about 5 pounds lighter. It has a thru axel which makes the front end way stiffer so turning feels a lot more stable. My riding confidence is way up, so now I'm pushing my rides harder and endurance is following naturally. I have an old friend who races quite a bit so I'm considering getting into beginner class and racing to. I don't know if 41 is a bit late to get into the sport, but I'm h 10:48pm - 02/01 - augstwest - ha ha ha it's you, lol I got shimano SLX hydros. Come down please and if you want to bring the fam we got room just give me a little notice so I can make the place hospitable. see you soon
3:28pm - 02/01 - Cakes - What is the new brake set up you got rolling? Good times on your visit. I'll try to get down to PHX before April so you can show me the goods. 12:25pm - 02/01 - augstwest - No I bought my single speed with a shock it was a suntour with springs, AKA boat anchor. The bike feels so awesome I want to ride all the time, work gets in the way of this of corse. I did a 12 hr race called "12 hours at Papago" in Tempe AZ. with 3 friends and I'm really getting hooked here, My wife is concerned lol. I signed up for another race in march called the fat tire 40, its a 40 mile race with a limited number of riders allowed. Two friends have signed on with me I'm 7:59am - 12/15 - Cakes - Were you fully rigid before getting this shock? Can't remember - either way, having really nice suspension is such a bonus. |

Winter - CakesSaw the cameras in Crested Butte this morning. Looks like winter is making another crack at owning the landscape. Big storm blowing through Sedona right now. Dark skies, rain, thunder, lightning...Reminds me I have no idea what to expect come the winter months. 9:10pm - 01/30 - Cakes - Good to hear. I justr spent the last week in Aspen and got a few runs in - very fun. Back in AZ and it is shorts and, maybe, a long sleeve weather. Riding tomorrow! 4:46pm - 01/27 - JC - best 8" day the butte has seen in forever today, almost forgot about mountain biking for a little while there! 7:53pm - 01/21 - Cakes - Today was the crapiest day of the week and I was still comfortable riding in shorts. It ain't a powder day, but its alright by me. 8:42pm - 12/20 - Cakes - Nice, RF! Get it where you can. |

8:35am - 01/15 - Cakes - The first one I ever saw was Rick from the Mystic Cycle Centre - he did the Iditabike way before their was much of an ultra-endurance genre. If I remember correctly, he had two rims welded together to accommodate his big-ass tires. 2:09pm - 01/14 - Chally - I agree 12:44pm - 01/13 - Cakes - I have not, but I've seen tire tracks from them on cross-country ski trails, snowmobile trails and in variable conditions with mud, sand and snow. It would be fun to ride on in the right conditions. 5:32pm - 01/12 - Chally - Have you had a chance to ride one of these cakes?Looks interesting. |
